David Baker

David Baker is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international relations and diplomacy. Currently serving as a NATO Desk Officer and previously as a China Desk Officer and Vice Consul at the U.S. Department of State since November 2017, David has also held positions as an Economic Officer and an Indonesian Language Student within the same department. Prior to this, David was a Special Assistant to the Chairman at the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and worked as a South & Central Asia Analyst at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. David's early career included serving as an Afghanistan Desk Officer and a Clerk for the House Committee on Armed Services, as well as a Major in the US Army from May 2006 to June 2014. David holds a Master of Letters in International Political Theory from the University of St Andrews and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Philosophy from Georgetown University.
