Karen Hopkins, Esq. is a seasoned attorney currently serving as a Senior Attorney and Attorney Advisor in the Office of Information Policy, Compliance at the U.S. Department of Justice since October 2018. With a wealth of experience, Karen previously worked as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, handling various criminal and civil matters. Additional roles include serving as a Litigation and Appeals Law Clerk at the U.S. Department of State, where Karen focused on Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act cases, as well as positions in legal clinics and international organizations advocating for human rights and victim assistance. Karen holds a Juris Doctor from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law and has furthered studies in International Education and Human Rights, complemented by extensive practical experience in legal settings domestically and internationally.
