Luke van den Hoek currently serves as an Economic Specialist at the U.S. Department of State, a position held since November 2024. Prior to this, Luke held significant roles within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet of WA, including Acting Deputy Director for State Security & Defence Policy and Executive Manager for Intergovernmental Relations & Strategic Priorities between January and October 2024. Luke's experience also encompasses positions at Curtin University as Foreign Risk Consultant and Acting Chief of Staff, among others, as well as involvement in various organizations such as the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce. An educational foundation in international law and relations was established at The University of Western Australia and corresponding degrees in security studies and landscape architecture were obtained from Murdoch University and North Carolina State University.
