Nicholas Austin

Nicholas Austin possesses extensive experience in environmental and science policy, currently serving as an Environment and Science Officer at the U.S. Department of State, where responsibilities include leading initiatives on marine pollution and serving as the Head of Delegation for the APEC Oceans and Fisheries Working Group. Nicholas has held various roles including Consular Officer and Political/Economic Officer, focusing on political, economic, and environmental challenges in the Niger Delta. Previously, as an Energy and Sustainability Technical Analyst/Project Manager at Concurrent Technologies Corporation, Nicholas played a key role in developing an operational energy investment strategy for the Air Force. Experience also includes positions as a Systems Analyst IV and Intern at SRA International, with an early background in research at the Florida Institute of Technology. Nicholas holds a Master's Degree in International Science and Technology Policy from The George Washington University and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Mathematical Sciences, and Astrophysics from the Florida Institute of Technology.
