Shona Carter

Shona Carter is an accomplished International Economist and Gender and Entrepreneurship Officer at the U.S. Department of State, where responsibilities include managing the African Women's Entrepreneurship Program and promoting gender equity, information and communication technology, and support for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises within the Bureau of African Affairs. Prior experience includes roles as a Foreign Service Officer, Economic Officer, and Consular Officer, alongside a position as a Writer for the Streit Council for a Union of Democracies, focusing on international governance and democracy. Additional experience encompasses research and analysis for the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade in the U.S. House of Representatives and internship roles in community development and foreign relations.
