Kirra Somerville

Kirra Somerville is an experienced Policy Officer currently working at the Department of Training and Workforce Development since February 2023, focusing on communication and engagement expertise and conducting policy research for Group Training Organisation registration and management. Kirra has authored the children's book "The Lizard Gang," published with Magabala Books since 2006. Before the current role, Kirra served as a Policy Officer in the Aboriginal Engagement Directorate at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet of WA, supporting engagement with Aboriginal communities. Additional roles include managing digital communications at Landgate, and an Indigenous Cadet position at Chevron, which enhanced skills in policy and community engagement. Kirra holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Western Australia, majoring in Communication and Media Studies and Italian Studies.
