Arifusalam Shaikh

Arifusalam Shaikh, PhD, CSCP has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Currently, they serve as an Associate Professor at University Canada West. Arifusalam is also the Co-Founder and Product Design of dependbuild, a start-up company. In addition, they are the CEO & Co-Founder of SkillsHawk, a technology company that provides intelligent skills traceability tools.

Prior to their current roles, Arifusalam worked as an Employment Program Manager and Project Lead at the Association for New Canadians. Arifusalam also served as a Per Course Instructor at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Their previous experience includes being a Project Manager and Postdoctoral Fellow in Product Development and Commercialization at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Before their tenure at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Arifusalam worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Faculty of Business Administration, Memorial University of Newfoundland, focusing on optimization in multimodal transportation of hazardous materials. Arifusalam also worked as an Assistant Professor at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU), teaching various management courses and conducting research in areas such as supply chain management and project management.

Earlier in their career, Arifusalam worked as a Lecturer and Research Assistant at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, where they supported professors in research and conducted labs for undergraduate courses in systems engineering.

Arifusalam Shaikh, PhD, CSCP completed their education in a progressive manner. Arifusalam started by obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Production Engineering from Osmania University, which was completed between 1990 and 1994. This was followed by a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Industrial Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, which they completed between 1996 and 1998.

Arifusalam Shaikh then pursued further studies at the University of Kent, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Management Science from the Kent Business School. This degree was achieved between 2006 and 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Arifusalam Shaikh has also obtained certifications to enhance their skills. Arifusalam completed the Teaching Skills Enhancement Program (TSEP) at the Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, Memorial University of Newfoundland, St John's, Canada in 2016. Arifusalam also received the Certified Supply Chain Professional certification from APICS, the premier professional association for supply chain and operations management, in 2015.
