Tom Olsen has extensive experience in dermatology and dermatopathology, serving as a Clinical Professor at Wright State University since 1984 while also holding positions as Laboratory Director at Dermpath Lab of Central States and Dermatologist at Dermatologists of Southwest Ohio. Previously, Tom Olsen was an Assistant Professor at Yale University School of Medicine and an Osborne Fellow in Dermatopathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Early training included research at the National Institutes of Health and residency at Cincinnati General Hospital in dermatology, alongside an internal medicine residency at St. Vincent Hospital. Tom Olsen earned a medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine.
