Veronique Filloux has a range of work experience in the opera and music industry. Veronique started their career in 2018 as a Professional Singer, performing soloist roles with various organizations such as Opera Lafayette, Music of the Baroque, CHAMPAIGN-URBANA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, Chicago Opera Theater, and Central City Opera. In 2019, they also had the opportunity to work as a soloist with the BACH COLLEGIUM SAN DIEGO. In 2020, Veronique took on the role of an Apprentice Artist at Des Moines Metro Opera and a Resident Artist at Pittsburgh Opera. Veronique also worked as a Soloist with SALT MARSH OPERA COMPANY. Throughout their career, Veronique has demonstrated their talent and dedication to their craft.
Veronique Filloux completed their Bachelor's Degree in Voice and Opera, with a focus on Operatic Languages, at Northwestern University from 2011 to 2015. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Music degree at the University of Maryland, specializing in the Maryland Opera Studio, from 2016 to 2018. Prior to their university education, Veronique attended Woodside Priory High School between 2007 and 2011.

Des Moines Metro Opera is a major American summer opera festival and is one of the state’s largest performing arts organizations, annually producing over 100 performances in the metro area and around the region. The company’s summer festival season runs from May through July of each year during which three operas are performed in repertory for 15 mainstage performances. The summer festival season takes place in the intimate 467-seat Pote Theater at the Blank Performing Arts Center in Indianola, Iowa. Unique among local arts organizations and national opera companies, the company’s programming encompasses a distinctive mix of styles from four centuries of composition, presented in original productions that transport audiences to the intersection of art and ideas. DMMO enlarges experiences through curated series of concerts, lectures, art shows, film screenings and unique performance collaborations such as those in our 2nd Stages Series. We cultivate the next generation of musicians and music lovers through programs like the Apprentice Artist and the OPERA Iowa Programs.
