Des Moines Symphony and Academy
Josh Johnson is a seasoned music educator and performer with extensive experience in various orchestras and academic institutions. Currently serving as a Lecturer of Music at Iowa State University since August 2015, Josh also holds positions as 4th Horn and Horn Instructor at the Des Moines Symphony and Academy since January 2013, focusing on the development of musicians in local programs. Additionally, Josh performs as 3rd Horn with the Quad City Symphony and 4th Horn with the Dubuque Symphony, contributing to numerous concerts annually. Previous roles include Adjunct Instructor of Horn at Simpson College and Orchestra Manager for the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra. Josh holds a Master of Music in Music Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of North Texas.
