Mark Albert

CIO & AVP, Information Technology at DeSales University

Mark Albert is the current CIO and AVP of Information Technology at DeSales University. Prior to their current position, Albert served as the assistant vice president for Business Intelligence and Data Analytics at Furman University from February 2019 to December 2021. In this role, they were responsible for designing the Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Analytics strategy for the institution and forming a BI organization to develop solutions for decision makers. Additionally, Albert led data governance within the University, promoted BI usage across the organization, and directed, sponsored, organized, and led projects in the implementation and use of BI software tools and systems.

Albert began their career in education as an adjunct instructor at The George Washington University from June 2010 to February 2019 before taking on the role of portal conference coordinator at Gettysburg College from April 1998 to May 2010. Mark began their professional career as a photojournalist at California University of Pennsylvania from January 1994 to December 1998.

Throughout their career, Albert has been dedicated to using data to improve decision making and organizational efficiency. Their experience with data visualization, cloud platforms, and project management makes him uniquely qualified to lead DeSales University into the future.

Mark Albert has a Master of Science in Management Information Systems and Services from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. Mark also has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
