Deschutes County
Tim Brownell is an experienced leader in waste management and recycling, currently serving as the Director of Solid Waste for Deschutes County since April 2022. Previously, Tim held the role of Director of Operations at the Monterey Regional Waste Management District from February 2017 to April 2022, where oversight included a variety of recycling and solid waste services. As a co-founder and co-president of Eureka Recycling, Tim has been instrumental in promoting zero waste initiatives since 2000. Additionally, Tim serves on the Board of Directors for Recycle Ann Arbor, where the mission focuses on innovative recycling and zero-waste programs. Tim also has prior experience as the Executive Director of Recycle Ann Arbor and as a Recycling Program Developer at Sunset Scavenger. Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Tufts University.
