Shahnewaz Chowdhury

Shahnewaz Chowdhury has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Shahnewaz recently joined Design Ready Controls as a Research and Development Engineer, where they are responsible for developing firmware and conducting tests for IoT devices and sensors. Their role also includes analyzing and addressing hardware and firmware functional issues.

Prior to this, Shahnewaz worked at the University of Minnesota Duluth as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. In this role, they organized and instructed labs on various electrical engineering topics, utilizing hardware and software tools such as power supplies, function generators, and programming languages like C, Matlab, and Python. Shahnewaz also served as a Connected Vehicle Researcher, completing projects related to driver assist technology, sensor technology, and V2V communication.

Before their time at the University of Minnesota Duluth, Shahnewaz worked as a Lecturer in the ECE department of Uttara University. Here, they taught multiple courses on electrical engineering and computer science and was involved in coordinating the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell.

Shahnewaz Chowdhury earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Duluth, completing the program from 2018 to 2021. Prior to their postgraduate studies, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, where they studied from 2011 to 2016. Shahnewaz's educational journey began with their high school diploma, which they acquired from Notre Dame College in the field of Science from 2008 to 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Shahnewaz Chowdhury has sought additional certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. Shahnewaz completed a course on Learning C++ from LinkedIn in May 2021. Shahnewaz also pursued certificates in State Estimation and Localization for Self-Driving Cars and Introduction to Self-Driving Cars from the University of Toronto, both acquired in 2021.
