Andy Powers, Ph.D.

Andy Powers, Ph.D. has a long history of work experience, beginning in 2000 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at UC Davis. Andy then moved onto a Postgraduate Researcher role at the same institution. In 2005, they began their Graduate Student role at the University of Washington. Following this, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) from 2012 to 2014. Andy then moved onto a Postdoctoral Fellow role at GNF from 2014 to 2016. Finally, they have been an Assistant Director at Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since 2016 and is currently the Associate Director at Design Therapeutics since 2021.

Andy Powers, Ph.D. began their educational career in 1998 when they attended the University of California, Davis, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Microbiology in 2002. Andy then continued their education at the University of Washington - School of Medicine, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physiology and Biophysics in 2012.
