Julie Burgess

Julie Burgess has over 30 years of experience in the accounting and finance industry. Julie began their career in 1991 as a Sr Auditor (CPA) at KPMG Peat Marwick. Julie then moved on to become a Business Manager at General Instrument in 1995. In 1999, they became a Principal at Independent Consulting. In 2000, they joined ICTV as Director of Corporate Development. From 2002 to 2006, they were VP Finance and Operations at Phenomix Corporation, and then Sr Finance Manager at Viejas Enterprises from 2006 to 2007. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as an independent consultant, providing services to various clients. From 2012 to 2014, they were Corporate Controller at Apricus Biosciences (APRI). Julie then joined Otonomy, Inc. as Sr VP Finance and VP Finance and Administration from 2014 to 2021. Most recently, they were appointed Chief Accounting Officer at Design Therapeutics.

Julie Burgess attended San Diego State University from 1996 to 1998, where they earned a Masters degree in Business Management. Julie then attended UC Santa Barbara from 1986 to 1990, where they earned a BA in Business Economics.
