Ramesh Palanisamy

Ramesh Palanisamy, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Ramesh currently serves as the Chief Scientist at Design West Technologies, Inc., where they are responsible for managing critical R&D projects, writing research proposals, guiding product design, ensuring quality controls, and supporting new business development. In this role, they have successfully organized and led a range of R&D initiatives, including the development of a new chemical sensor badge solution.

Prior to their current position, Ramesh worked as a Principal Scientist at Design West Technologies, Inc., where they played a vital role in managing R&D projects, lab operations, and proposal generation. Ramesh identified a niche market for nanotube and graphene materials and successfully developed products and technologies in this field, resulting in significant revenue growth for the company.

Before joining Design West Technologies, Inc., Ramesh worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Carbon Solutions Inc. In this role, they coordinated important R&D projects, managed lab operations, and led the development of nanotube and graphene-based products. Ramesh also served as the Lab Safety Manager and played a key role in adding new revenue through seed money and government R&D contracts.

Ramesh's career began at the University of California at Riverside, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. During this time, they successfully launched and delivered a nanotube thin film project and made significant contributions to the introduction of graphene materials into various projects, resulting in patents and technology transfers.

Prior to their postdoctoral work, Ramesh served as a JST-CREST Fellow at Nagoya University.

Throughout their career, Ramesh has consistently demonstrated their expertise in engineering, manufacturing, and product development, and has contributed to technological advancements in the field of materials science.

Ramesh Palanisamy, PhD, obtained their Bachelor of Chemistry degree from the University of Madras in 1995. Ramesh continued their education at the same institution and completed a Master's degree in Inorganic Chemistry in 1997. Subsequently, they pursued a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc) from 1997 to 2003.
