Design West
David Watkins is an experienced Associate Director at Arup, specializing in Cities, Planning, and Design across Wales and the West of England since June 2005. Responsibilities include managing the Bristol transport consulting team and contributing to a variety of transport planning and engineering projects both in the UK and the Middle East. Previously, David served as a Senior Engineer focusing on development planning and assisting private sector clients with masterplans and planning applications. In addition to current work with Design West as an expert in shaping development across the South West of England, David is also a Committee Member of the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation in the South West. Prior experience includes a consultancy role at Transport & Travel Research Ltd where David engaged in social research related to transport schemes. David holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath.
