Maria McDowell completed their education at multiple institutions. Maria obtained a Ph.D. in Theological Ethics from Boston College from 2002 to 2010. Before that, they pursued their Master's of Divinity (MDiv) at Fuller Theological Seminary between 1995 and 1999. Maria McDowell began their academic journey at Pitzer College, earning a Bachelor's degree (BA) in Religion from 1990 to 1999.
