Pieter Vanderhaeghen has extensive experience in the environmental engineering industry. Pieter worked at URS Corporation from 2007 to 2013 as an Environmental Engineer, Geologist, and Project Manager. During this time, they managed and reported on environmental soil and groundwater investigation and remediation projects, designed and optimized in-situ soil remediation projects, analyzed geological and geotechnical data, and supervised field measurements.

In 2013, Vanderhaeghen joined DESOTEC I Infinite Purification Solutions. Pieter initially worked as a Sales Engineer for the BENELUX region before becoming a Sales Engineer for Western France. In 2016, they were promoted to Regional Sales Manager and later became the Regional Business Director for Italy, Nordic & Eastern Europe. Their role involved providing purification solutions for liquids and gases and managing sales operations in these regions.

Pieter Vanderhaeghen obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Geology from KU Leuven from 2002 to 2004. Pieter then pursued a Master's Degree in Geology with a specialization in Geodynamics & Geofluids at KU Leuven from 2004 to 2006. Following this, Pieter went on to complete another Master's Degree in Environmental Sciences & Management at Ghent University from 2006 to 2007. Prior to their university education, Pieter attended Sint-Jozefscollege te Aalst from 1996 to 2002, where they studied Sciences-Mathematics.

In terms of additional certifications, Pieter obtained the Associate Project Manager certification from URS Corporation, recognized by the Project Management Institute (PMI), in June 2012. Pieter also received the Health & Safety HAZWOPER training certificate from URS Corporation, according to the US Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), in February 2008. Furthermore, Pieter obtained the Milieucoördinator A (Environmental Coordinator) certification from the Flemish Regional authority in October 2007.
