Noreen Kamal has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and positions. Noreen is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University since January 2019. Prior to that, they co-founded DESTINE Health Inc. in 2018 and served as the CTO.
From 2016 to 2018, Noreen was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary. During this time, they also worked as a Program Manager, leading the QuICR (Quality Improvement & Clinical Research) at the Alberta Stroke Program. Noreen'sresponsibilities included implementing quality improvement initiatives and conducting clinical research projects.
Noreen was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary from 2014 to 2015. Before that, they served as a Project Manager at Stroke Services BC - Provincial Health Services Authority from 2012 to 2013.
Noreen completed their PhD at The University of British Columbia from 2009 to 2013. During this time, they also held additional roles such as Assistant Director, Technology and Innovation, and Director of Technology CPD-KT. Noreen also served as the Engineering Co-op coordinator.
Noreen worked as a Quality Leader at BC Patient Safety & Quality Council from 2011 to 2012. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Project Manager at Matrikon from 1998 to 2004.
Noreen Kamal's education history begins with their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary, which they obtained from 1989 to 1993. Noreen then pursued a Master of Applied Science (MASc) degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of British Columbia, completing it from 1994 to 1997. Noreen continued their academic journey by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of British Columbia between 2009 and 2013.
