Joe Richard

Joe Richard currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Detect, a position held since January 2023. Previously, Joe was the Solar Energy Project Manager at Connect Atlantic Utility Services, where management of an 8.8MW community solar project for Nova Scotia municipalities took place from March 2021 to September 2023. Joe also has experience as a Project Development Engineer, collaborating with teams to plan and execute projects, and as an Engineer in Training at EPTCON Ltd., where operation and maintenance of a 44MW solar facility were key responsibilities. Prior roles include Project Engineer and Project Coordinator at JCM Power, focusing on solar energy initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as positions at Pratt & Whitney Canada and Neocon International, where project and engineering skills were developed. Joe holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University, completed in 2017.
