Detection Technology
Johanna Hietaniemi began their career in 2013 as a Seasonal Trainee at NSN - Nokia Solutions and Networks, where they worked until 2014. In 2015, they joined Nokia as a Seasonal Trainee for a few months before also taking on the role of Research Assistant at the University of Oulu. In 2016, Hietaniemi joined Detection Technology as a Thesis Worker before moving on to become an HW Design Engineer and then an Application Engineer. In 2021, they briefly worked as a Project Manager at Indalgo Oy before taking up their current position as a Senior Test Engineer, Image Quality at Detection Technology.
Johanna Hietaniemi completed their education with a Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Oulu. Johanna pursued this degree from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, they also obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the same university, from 2010 to 2017.

Detection Technology Oyj is a Finland-based company providing X-ray imaging products and services for medical, security and industrial applications. It is engaged in design, manufacture and marketing of X-ray imaging components and subsystems, such as detectors, photodiodes, and parts and components. Its security offering includes products for scanning of trains, vehicles and containers, air cargo, baggage and parcels, as well as portable and people scanning. The medical supplies include computer tomography (CT), bone densitometry, mammography, and chest and trauma X-ray. The industrial products comprise detectors for food industry, pharmaceuticals, forestry, automotive, renewable energy, oil and gas, mining, agriculture, recycling and waste sorting, aerospace and defense, and industrial process control.
