Juha Sorvala

Juha Sorvala has a diverse work experience starting from 1997 to present. Juha started their career as a trainee at Scanfil Oyj in 1997, followed by a trainee position at Elektronet Oy in 2000. From 2002 to 2005, they worked as an RF Design Engineer at Filtronic, and then joined Pulse Electronics Corporation as an RF Design Engineer from 2005 to 2006.

In 2006, Juha Sorvala began working at Polar Electro Oy, initially as a Senior Design Engineer in R&D responsible for RF and antenna designs. Juha then held the position of HW Project Leader and Senior Design Engineer, leading hardware design projects in R&D. From 2012 to 2014, they served as the Manager of RF Electronics R&D, responsible for establishing a team and processes for RF electronics development.

Moving forward, from 2014 to 2018, Juha Sorvala worked as the Manager of Electronics Design R&D at Polar Electro Oy, where they oversaw electronics development processes, operations, and technologies. Juha also managed telecommunications and electronics-related research activities, as well as obtaining product type and RF approval certificates.

Since 2018, Juha Sorvala has been employed at Detection Technology, where they initially joined as a Senior Program Manager, planning and managing product and technology creation programs. Later, they assumed the role of R&D Manager, Product Design & Development, responsible for improving design and development processes globally and leading the mechanics technology steering group. Currently, they hold the position of Head of FW & SW, contributing to the global provider of off-the-shelf and customized X-ray imaging solutions' success, with responsibilities including overseeing electronics, mechanics, firmware, software design and development processes, as well as technology management and competence development in the Product Design & Development team.

Juha Sorvala completed their Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and Telecommunications at Oulu University of Applied Sciences from 1999 to 2003. Juha then pursued a Master's degree in Telecommunications Technology at the University of Oulu, which they obtained from 2004 to 2009.

In 2013, Juha Sorvala enrolled in POHTO - Finnish educational institution for business-related training, where they obtained a Specialist Qualification in Management from 2013 to 2015. The field of study for this qualification focused on leadership, human resources, and organization management.

Additionally, Juha Sorvala received the certification of Lean Six Sigma, Green Belt from Talentiimi Oy in January 2017.
