Laquita Washington

LaQuita Washington has over 15 years of experience in education, currently serving as an 8th Grade Math Teacher at the Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences since August 2017. In this role, LaQuita collaborates with English Language Arts teachers to enhance student proficiency through targeted academic plans. Previously, LaQuita taught 8th Grade Science, 5th Grade Math, and served as a Mathematics Specialist and Math Support Teacher at DOVE Academy of Detroit. Earlier experience includes teaching various grades at National Heritage Academies and serving as a paraprofessional and science teacher at the Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences. LaQuita holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Mathematics from Marygrove College and an Associate of Science in Biology from Wayne County Community College District.
