Monica McLeod

Monica McLeod currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer, Lead Instructional Specialist, and STEAM Coach at the Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences, a position held since July 2021. Prior to this role, Monica occupied various leadership positions, including Senior Director of Teacher Leadership at Detroit Public Schools Community District, where responsibilities included designing professional learning for K-12 Master Teachers and managing the Master Teacher program. Monica's experience extends to the Achievement Network as Director of School Support, where coaching was provided to K-12 school leaders on data-driven instruction. Additionally, Monica has experience in academia as part-time faculty at Wayne State University and has held multiple teaching positions at Detroit Public Schools. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master's Degree in Elementary Education, and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, all from Wayne State University.
