Peter Chapman

Peter Chapman serves as the Executive Vice President for Business Development at the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation since November 2016. Previously, Peter held influential roles such as Deputy City Manager for Economic Development and Housing, as well as Executive Director of the Economic Development Authority in the City of Norfolk, and Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (Deputy Mayor) in the City of Richmond, where Peter was recognized as a key figure in navigating complex real estate and business finance transactions. Other notable positions include Founding Executive Director at Seedco Financial-Colorado and Economic Development Policy Director in the Office of the Mayor in Denver, Colorado. Peter's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Public Policy with a focus on Urban Economic Development from Tufts University and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Wesleyan University.
