Cynthia Burton is an experienced journalist and editor with a diverse background in various editorial roles. Currently serving as Business Editor and Senior Content Coach at the Detroit Free Press since April 2013, Cynthia has held several key positions within the organization, including Senior Content Planner, Morning News Director and Copy Editing Chief, and Chief Editor of the Copy Desks. Prior to this, Cynthia worked as Ford Content Factory Global Manager at PRISM and as Project Editor for Michigan's Children. Earlier career experiences include roles such as Assistant Metro Editor and Chief Slot at the Detroit Free Press, Managing Editor at The Centre Daily Times, and News Editor at The Myrtle Beach Sun News. Cynthia's career began in the United States Air Force as a Cryptologic Linguist. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Maryland.
