Khalil Alhajal

Khalil AlHajal is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in various editorial roles. Currently serving as the Entertainment Editor at the Detroit Free Press since December 2021, Khalil previously held the position of State Politics Editor at MLive.com from August 2012 to December 2021, where responsibilities included assigning and editing statewide politics and economy stories. Khalil's career also features roles as an editor at The Ann Arbor News and MLive's Detroit newsroom, as well as a news reporter focusing on major political events. Earlier experience includes crime and education reporting at The Flint Journal and serving as Community Editor at The Arab American News, where Khalil reported on cultural and political issues impacting the Arab American community. Khalil's journalism foundation was established with a B.A. in Communications with a focus on Journalism from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
