Shannon Copperman

Digital Communications Specialist at Detroit Institute of Arts

Shannon Copperman has a diverse range of work experience, primarily focused on digital communications and web management. Starting in 2013, Shannon worked as a Social Media Marketing Intern for the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness. This was followed by a role as a Graphic and Web Design Intern at Michigan Energy Options in 2014. In the same year, Shannon also worked as a Content Strategist for the Michigan State University Comic Art Collection and as a Digital Marketing Intern for the Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority.

In 2015, Shannon joined Shelving Inc. as a Digital Content Strategist, where they managed web content and made updates to the company's websites. They also gained experience in web development and writing during their time as a Content Management/Web Development/Writing team member for Culture Bubble Online Magazine, from 2013 to 2014.

Shannon further expanded their web development skills by working as a Web and Social Media Specialist for Vanishing Borders Documentary in 2014. They developed a website for the documentary on Wordpress and implemented a web content strategy, while also utilizing Facebook and Twitter to promote the film.

From 2018 to the present, Shannon has been employed by the Detroit Institute of Arts as a Digital Communications Specialist. In this role, they have been responsible for website maintenance, managing email marketing, and collaborating on digital content planning and delivery. They have successfully led a total website redesign project that is set to be completed in 2022.

Shannon also briefly served as a Web Manager for the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit from 2020 to 2021.

Throughout their work experience, Shannon has consistently demonstrated strong skills in web development, digital communications, and content management.

Shannon Copperman attended Michigan State University from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English and Professional Writing.
