Joe Kelleher joined the Lions in June 2011 and is now in his 10th season with the team and third season as a pro scout. He was previously the team's college scouting coordinator for five seasons (2013-17). Kelleher originally served as the team's BLESTO scout before being promoted to regional scout in 2012. While working as the college scouting coordinator, he also had various college scouting responsibilities in the Midwest, Great Plains and Southwest regions.
Kelleher joined the Lions' Player Personnel Department after working as a scouting assistant for National Football Scouting and the National Invitational Camp (NFL Combine) from 2009-2011. He had previously completed internships with BLESTO Scouting (2009), the Lions Football Operations Department (2008) and the New York Giants Pro Personnel Department during training camp in 2007.
A native of Potomac, Maryland, Kelleher attended Butler University and played offensive tackle and tight end for the Bulldogs. Kelleher graduated from Butler with a bachelor's degree in business-marketing, and went on to earn a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Sports Administration from Ohio University.
Kelleher and his wife, Jill, reside in Canton, Mich. with their sons Ben and Wesley.
