Xitong Liu

Xitong Liu is a co-founder of Ellexco, a company established in February 2023 that specializes in chemical-free direct lithium extraction technology aimed at innovating the lithium mining sector. Liu has been serving as an Assistant Professor at The George Washington University since August 2019, and previously held the position of Post-Doctoral Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University from July 2017 to July 2019. Liu's academic career began as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Johns Hopkins University from September 2013 to June 2017, and as a Research Assistant at Nanjing University from September 2010 to June 2013. Liu holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, a Master's of Engineering in Environmental Engineering from Nanjing University, and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from the same institution.
