Justin Licker

Pro Scout at Detroit Lions

Justin Licker enters his second season as pro scout after being promoted from a scouting assistant in 2018.

In his three seasons, Licker has assisted with several player personnel projects, including evaluation and production of various scouting reports, annual NFL Draft prep, free agency acquisitions and other daily administrative tasks.

Prior to joining the Lions, Licker served as a Player Personnel Assistant for Boston College (2017) and a Football Analytics Intern (2016) for the New York Giants. For the Eagles, he assisted with recruiting events and evaluated opponent player tendencies. With the Giants, Licker compiled opponent scouting and self-scouting reports.

As a graduate student at UMass (2014-16), Licker served as the Defensive Graduate Assistant Coach, a role where he focused on linebacker development, recruited the state of Ohio, prepared defensive weekly scouting reports and orchestrated scout team.

A native of New City, N.Y. he graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a bachelor's degree in psychology, and later received a master's degree in sports management from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass.
