Mary Kramer

Mary Kramer currently serves as Vice Chair at Detroit Opera since January 2022. Prior to this role, Mary held various positions at Crain Communications, including Director at both Crain Currency and as Director of Detroit Homecoming and Special Projects from January 2014 until January 2024. Earlier in their career, Mary worked as Group Publisher and Publisher/Editor at Crain's Detroit Business from 1989 to January 2021, and began their journalism career at the Kalamazoo Gazette and Ann Arbor News, holding positions such as City Editor and Assistant Metro Editor. Mary holds a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Eastern Michigan University and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts & Media from Grand Valley State University.
