Chris Alvarez

Chris Alvarez is an experienced professional with a diverse background in environmental health and safety management, construction safety, and operational support. Currently serving as the Environment, Health and Safety Manager at The Detroit Salt Company since December 2020, Chris oversees EHS for an underground salt mine and associated operations. Previous roles include Safety Manager at Iron Woman Construction & Environmental Services, where responsibilities encompassed the health and safety of underground mining operations, and Mine Rescue Coordinator for San Juan Mine Rescue, coordinating rescue efforts across multiple mines. Chris also boasts experience in finance and compliance as a Bookkeeper for K J Wood Distillers and holds a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography from the United States Naval Academy, along with an Associate's Degree in Banking and Financial Services from Colorado Northwestern Community College.
