Monifa Gray

Monifa Gray has diverse work experience in the legal field. Monifa'smost recent role is as the Associate Vice President of Legal Affairs at Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network, where they are currently employed. Prior to this, they served as a Legal Counsel at the same organization.

From 2017 to 2021, Monifa worked as a Senior Associate at The Allen Law Group PC, where they provided legal counsel and advice to clients in various areas such as business, civil rights, healthcare, and employment. Monifa also had expertise in constitutional issues and policies related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before joining The Allen Law Group PC, Monifa held the position of Associate Attorney at DeAno & Scarry, LLC from 2014 to 2017. Additionally, they briefly worked as a Contract Attorney at Special Counsel in 2014 and as a Legal Consultant at Communication for Social Change Consortium for a short period.

Monifa gained valuable experience as an Associate Attorney at Andrew M. Hale & Associates from 2010 to 2013, defending municipalities in police misconduct cases. Prior to that, they served as a Judicial Research Attorney at Oakland County from 2008 to 2010, and as a Policy Analyst at the Michigan Senate from 2007 to 2008. Monifa's early career involved working as a Contract Attorney at Floyd E. Allen & Associates in 2006. Monifa then served as a Judicial Law Clerk to Hon. Denise Page Hood at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan from 2005 to 2006. In this position, they drafted judicial opinions, orders, and memoranda for federal civil and criminal district court cases. Monifa also contributed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Monifa Gray attended West Bloomfield High School from 1994 to 1998. Upon completing high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan from 1998 to 2002. Following this, Monifa Gray continued their educational journey at Vanderbilt University Law School, where they obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from 2002 to 2005.
