Amanda Hanlin, PhD, currently serves as Chief of Staff at the Detroit Zoological Society since January 2023. Prior to this role, Amanda held multiple leadership positions at the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, including Chief of Staff and Special Advisor to the CEO, from April 2016 to January 2023. Amanda's experience extends to serving as Senior Planner at the Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation, Research and Planning Associate at the Center for the Study of Citizenship at Wayne State University, and Senior Development Strategist at WambaTech. Earlier career roles include Researcher at the Center for Urban Studies at Wayne State University, Director of Community and Governmental Affairs at Detroit Community Health Connection, Writer in the Office of Presidential Letters and Messages at The White House, and Policy and Planning Specialist at the Michigan Primary Care Association. Amanda earned a PhD and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Wayne State University and a BA in International Relations from Michigan State University.
