Senior Director Of Animal Welfare And Research at Detroit Zoological Society

Grace Fuller is a seasoned professional in animal welfare and research, currently serving as the Senior Director of Animal Welfare and Research at the Detroit Zoological Society since September 2014, having previously held positions as Director of Animal Welfare and Manager of Applied Animal Welfare Science. In addition to this role, Grace Fuller has been the Chair of the AZA Animal Welfare Committee since October 2023. Prior experience includes a position as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Little Fireface Project, where research focused on the evolutionary ecology of venom in slow lorises under the mentorship of Dr. Anna Nekaris. Grace Fuller holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biology from Case Western Reserve University, a Master's Degree in Anthropology from Kent State University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University.
