Markus Amend

Markus Amend is the Head of Core & Network Services at Deutsche Telekom, a position held since May 2013, with interim roles and previous experience as a Senior Architect in Group Technology and Strategy & Technology Innovation. In addition to work at Deutsche Telekom, Markus serves as an IETF Delegate since July 2017 and participated in the GSMA ZTC Working Group from November 2019 to December 2023. In 2022, Markus engaged as a 3GPP Delegate until March 2023. A diploma thesis on Transition Time Filters was completed at Rohde & Schwarz, alongside an internship focused on Network Architecture at DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH. Academic credentials include a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from City St George’s, University of London, and a Diplom Ingenieur in Information and Communications Engineering from Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen.
