Rebecca Shields

Rebecca Shields has a diverse work experience, starting as a Student Career Coach at Dickinson College Career Center in 2011. Rebecca then worked as a Program Implementation Intern at The DO School in 2012. In 2013, they interned in two different organizations: American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and Bertelsmann Foundation as a Program and Promotions Intern and an International Relations Intern, respectively. Rebecca also worked as a Production Assistant at Deutsche Welle in 2014. In the same year, they took on a role as a Strategic Communications Intern at Conover + Gould Strategic Communications and as an Independent Contractor at Freelance Translator. Rebecca continued their journey at Bertelsmann Foundation in 2015 as a Research Fellow. From 2015 to 2019, they joined Lidl US and held various roles including Executive Assistant and Sales Organization Analyst. Currently, Rebecca is with Deutsche Windtechnik, where they have held positions of increasing responsibility, starting as a Human Resources Coordinator in 2019 and currently serving as Director of Human Resources and Interim Director of Sales starting in February 2023.

Rebecca Shields has a diverse education history. From 2013 to 2015, they attended Georgetown University and earned a Master's degree in German and European Studies. In 2014, they also attended the University of Bremen for a C1 Level German Language Summer Course. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2012, Rebecca studied at Dickinson College, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Intercultural Communication. During their time at Dickinson College, they also pursued minors in German and French.

While pursuing their undergraduate degree, Rebecca participated in study abroad programs at the University of Bremen in 2011 and Institut Catholique de Toulouse from 2010 to 2011.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Rebecca has also obtained certifications in various fields. In 2020, they became a Certified Practitioner from SHRM and a PIPractitioner from The Predictive Index. In 2018, they obtained a ServSafe Manager certification from the National Restaurant Association.
