Dr. Shivagami Gugan

Dr. Shivagami Gugan has an extensive work experience spanning over three decades. Dr. Shivagami started their career in 1989 as a Graduate Engineer at Larsen & Toubro Limited. Dr. Shivagami then went on to work as a Digital Signal Processing Engineering Lead at Analog Devices R&D Lab (IRDL), Chennai from 1993 to 1998. In 1998, they joined Emirates Group as Head of Software Engineering and Head of BI/Analytics and Data Sciences. During their time at Emirates Group, they held various roles such as Head of Site Reliability Engineering and Cloud, Transformation Lead for Scaled DevOps, Head of Software Engineering ERP, Group Services, MRO, Aircraft Engg, and Manager Software Engineering & Head of Integration and Middleware. In 2020, they joined CX Tech Unicorn as Chief Technology Officer and DevOps Institute as Ambassador, DevOps Institute, Lead Author. In 2021, they became the Group Chief Technology Officer at IDC Technologies, Inc. and in 2022, they were appointed as Chief Technologist, MEA at Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Dr. Shivagami Gugan has a comprehensive education background. Dr. Shivagami obtained their B.E (Distinction with Gold Medals) in Instrumentation Technology from the University of Mysore in 1989. Dr. Shivagami then went on to earn their M.S (Distinction) in Electronics and Control from the B K Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pilani in 1995. In 2002, they completed their MBA (Distinction) in Corporate Consortium from the University of Bradford School of Management. In 2015, they earned a Strategic Leadership Executive Leadership in Digital Transformation from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Currently, they are pursuing an Executive Leadership Development Program & Postgraduate Award in Organisational Leadership from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School.
