Derek Marshall

Derek Marshall has extensive work experience in the engineering and consulting industry. Derek started their career at Bledsoe Riggert & Guerrettaz, Inc. in 2005, where they worked as a managing civil engineer on various projects, including education, commercial, institutional, residential, and private developments. Derek also served as a project manager and trainer for engineering and drafting teams. During their time at the company, Derek managed permitting processes, collaborated with city planning and engineering departments, and held public meetings.

In 2011, Derek joined Dewberry as a Project Engineer, where they were responsible for design construction drawings for the University of Virginia, including renovations, drainage systems, steam tunnels, and fire protection systems. Derek later became a Project Manager and worked on several telecommunications and energy infrastructure projects throughout Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio, and Kentucky.

Additionally, Derek was involved in the design of energy infrastructure projects, including substations, switching stations, microwave towers, and electrical duct banks.

Derek's most recent role at Dewberry is Vice President and Operating Unit Manager, where they oversee the company's energy and telecommunications practice on a national level.
