Johanna Greenspan-Johnston

Johanna Greenspan-Johnston is a professional with extensive experience in resilience planning and climate adaptation, currently serving as the Resilience Planning Team Lead and Resilience Planner at Dewberry since 2018. In this role, Johanna has been instrumental in developing comprehensive coastal adaptation plans and leading Virginia's inaugural state-wide coastal resilience master plan. Previous experience includes a fellowship at the City of Boston focused on extreme heat preparedness and regional infrastructure coordination, and a Project Team Lead position at MIT D-Lab, where Johanna led student teams in developing sustainable agricultural technologies in Colombia. Additional roles include research positions addressing urban resilience in Nepal and community perspectives on development in South Africa, along with various internships focusing on innovative design and urban planning. Johanna holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Urban Planning and a Master of City Planning, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
