Shane Caffrey

Shane Caffrey is a professional in international relations and human resources, currently serving as Assistant Principal for HR Strategy in the Human Resources Division at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland since November 2017. Previous roles include Vice Consul at the Consulate General of Ireland in Boston, Adviser at the Permanent Mission of Ireland to the United Nations, and Third Secretary focusing on Brexit/EU Communications. Prior to the current position, Shane worked as an Administrative Officer in the Britain & Northern Ireland Affairs Section at the Department of the Taoiseach and as a Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Officer in the Political Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. An academic background includes an MA in International Peace and Security from King's College London and a BA in Political Science and Government from Trinity College Dublin, along with studies at the University of Copenhagen. Additional experience includes solo travel throughout South America and an internship with Congressman Joseph Crowley in the US Federal Government.
