Fabio Espinosa Valcarcel is a Junior Researcher at the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) since October 2014, contributing to projects such as Power4Production and the EyeBots project, which showcases collaborative efforts between humans and robots. Furthermore, as a Research Assistant, involvement includes administrating the Baxter research robot and developing human-robot interaction routines. Prior experiences include software development for PALCORT Aerospace Industries, focusing on an under-vehicle surveillance system for the Colombian Air Force, and serving as a Robotics System Administrator at Universidad Militar Nueva Granada, where efforts included developing teleoperated systems for handling explosives. Earlier academic work culminated in a thesis on dynamic traffic light control using machine vision. Fabio holds a Master’s degree in Visual Computing from Universität des Saarlandes and a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Universidad Militar Nueva Granada.
