Jan Peters serves as the Head of Department at Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) since March 2022 and has been a Full Professor at Technische Universität Darmstadt since July 2011, focusing on research, teaching, grant writing, and university services. Prior experience includes positions as Senior Research Scientist at both the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems and the Max-Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, as well as a Research Assistant at the University of Southern California. Jan's educational background encompasses a Ph.D. and two Master's degrees in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California, additional studies in Mechatronics at the National University of Singapore, and a Dipl.Ing. in Electrical Engineering from Technical University of Munich.
