John Battersby

John Battersby is an experienced professional with over 25 years in corporate affairs, communications, and public relations. They served as a Senior Press Officer and Head of News at HM Treasury, where they were the chief spokesperson on UK tax policy and managed the communications strategy during the 2008 financial crisis. Battersby has also held key roles in various organizations, including Deputy Head of Communications at Lloyd’s and Head of Public Affairs and ESG at Metro Bank, where they established and led new strategies for public engagement and sustainability. Currently, they are involved with The Anti-Greenwash Charter and serve as a Board Trustee at Hope Health Action, providing strategic advice and support. Battersby earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Geography from the University of Leeds.
