Edwin van Essen

Edwin van Essen is an experienced compliance and legal professional currently serving as the Manager of Compliance & Legal at DHB Bank since February 2022. Prior to this role, Edwin held various positions at Handelsbanken from November 2007 to January 2022, including Chief Legal Officer, Head of Compliance, and Hoofd Financiële Criminaliteit Preventie. Edwin also contributed as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Optimix Vermogensbeheer from September 2016 to January 2022. Edwin's earlier experience includes serving as Head of Credit Administration at GE Artesia Bank from February 2000 to November 2007. Educated at Nyenrode Business University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Edwin holds a Master of Laws in International & Private Law and is a Certified Compliance Professional from the Nederlands Compliance Instituut.
