Jesper Sandvig Mariegaard

Jesper Sandvig Mariegaard is a seasoned professional in applied mathematics and data modeling, currently serving as the Head of Data Model Integration at DHI since September 2009. In this leadership role, Jesper oversees a team focused on data assimilation, model skill assessment, and advanced methodologies in machine learning and probabilistic modeling. Prior to this position, Jesper contributed as a Senior Research Scientist in ports and offshore technology, developing high-performance numerical models, and held earlier roles as a Research Scientist and Software Developer at DHI. Jesper's academic background includes a PhD in applied mathematics from the Technical University of Denmark, where a research project focused on numerical approximations of boundary control problems was completed. Additional teaching experience was gained as a Teaching Assistant at the same institution, covering courses in partial differential equations and numerical modeling.
