Koen van Den Berg

Koen van den Berg is a Scala Developer at DHL Parcel since April 2023 and operates as the Owner of insertdata, where responsibilities include leading the development of a Python microservice for data validation and reporting as well as creating an ETL app for Dutch municipal salesforces. Previously, as a Data Engineer at LOGEX Netherlands from October 2020 to August 2022, Koen contributed to data quality projects related to clinical registries. An academic background includes a Master of Science in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology from Wageningen University & Research and a Bachelor's degree in Plant Sciences from the same institution. During a Msc thesis and internship at Wageningen University & Research, Koen developed a novel bioinformatics pipeline that advanced the extraction of metagenomic data. Additionally, Koen co-founded Enactus Wageningen, emphasizing social entrepreneurship and sustainability through initiatives like plastic recycling.
