Amal Hassan ALMurfadi currently serves as the Research Focal Point and Institution Committee Chair at Dhofar University since January 2019, while also being an IT Lecturer. Previously, Amal co-founded the Google Developers Group and completed a short job training program at Omantel focusing on IT and finance. Amal is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Transportation Science and Technology at Hasselt University, anticipated to be completed in May 2026, following the attainment of a Master's degree in Information Technology from Dhofar University in December 2018.

Dhofar University SAOG is an Oman-based joint stock company engaged in the provision of higher education to students in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company owns and operates Dhofar University (DU), a private Omani higher educational institution located in Salalah city. Dhofar University offers two-year diploma and four-year bachelor degree, and a foundation program (FP) for students who are not sufficiently prepared to join the university programs. DU offers academic programs in different fields of specialization through three colleges, namely College of Arts and Applied Sciences (CAAS), College of Commerce and Business Administration (CCBA) and College of Engineering (CE). In addition, DU has the Continuing Education Center (CEC) that offers a range of courses and training programs for executives and employees of government agencies and commercial firms, and for adult learners in the local community.
